Liver Transplant and Hepatobiliary Surgery
Professor Darius F Mirza, MS, DSS, FRCS (Edinburgh), FRCS (Glasgow), is a Consultant HPB and Multi-Organ Transplant Lead at Apollo Hospitals Navi Mumbai. He is one of the most experienced Hepato Pancreato Biliary and Transplant surgeons in the UK, having been involved with complex liver, pancreas, bile duct and transplantation surgery since 1986. His main areas of interest in liver transplantation include transplantation in complex circumstances, the use of extended criteria donors, surgical innovation (liver splitting, segmental grafts, live donor liver transplantation), use of machine perfusion in preservation of donor livers and paediatric ransplantation (liver, intestine, multivisceral). In the field of HPB surgery his interest lies in major liver and pancreatic resectional surgery for primary and secondary cancer, surgery for portal hypertension including shunt surgery in both adults and children, post cholecystectomy bile duct injuries and strictures, and paediatric liver and pancreatic resections
